I was playing with new touch and surface stuff and installed iRotate. It is an application that allow screen rotation with a mouse click. I was thinking that it would be nice to have a quick software option instead of having to select the video card menu or to using the rotte button on the side of the screen.
It may have not been due to iRotate but soon after, my touch screen capabilities were not rotating with my video. So I uninstalled iRotate, thinking that it was the cause but it still would not work. So I rebooted, still no good. So I reinstalled iRotate, still no good. Finally, I forced the Switchable Grahics to use the other video card. I had previously told it not to automatically change. I was willing to sacrifice some battery life to just always use the ATI card. Once I switched it to the power save Intil card, bingo, it worked!!
Now it works on either card and I have kept iRotate uninstalled. No problems since then.
